After three very busy weeks
in Tennessee, we continued our trek towards Florida, traveling 275 miles from
Gatlinburg, Tennessee to Asheboro, North Carolina, arriving on October 18 for a one
week stay. There wasn’t any particular reason to stop in Asheboro, other than
it being a logical point along the way, so we took advantage of the lull to
catch up on laundry, sleep, and household chores. We got in a round of golf,
visited a historic covered bridge, accidentally found a very colorful mural
along the way, and spent a day at the North Carolina Zoo, which I will post
about separately. Just a handful of pictures from Asheboro, below.
In 2007 Dan and I retired from work, hitched our 5th wheel to our truck, and hit the road. We are full time RV'ers so we take our home with us everywhere we go. We live by the credo "Home Is Where You Park It" and we have found Home in many an awesome setting! I created this blog to track our adventures as we travel around the US, Canada, and Mexico. Two of our goals include visiting all the State Capitals and as many of the Baseball Parks as possible, with everything else we can fit in between!
