Miami, Florida

After leaving Punta Gorda, we drove 180 miles southeast to Miami, where we would be from February-April, 2019. It was nice to be settled in for a longer stretch. In addition to taking the opportunity to thoroughly explore the area, we had two specific goals here – visiting our final Major League Baseball Park, and taking a vegan cruise out of the Bahamas. During our three month stay we also visited the Everglades and Biscayne National Parks; took an airboat ride; explored downtown Miami a few times; joined the Miami Pride festivities one weekend in South Beach; took a 3-day trip down to Key West; rode our bikes; snorkeled; toured the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens; walked through the murals of Wynnwood Walls. We also spent time enjoying our surroundings in the RV Park, just living life, and taking care of business and chores.

Our time in Miami will be split into several posts. This entry highlights our multiple visits to downtown Miami where we variously enjoyed the waterfront area along the Miami River, the interesting architecture, Little Havana, a one day Gay8 Festival on Calle Ocho, and a one day visit to the South Miami Rotary Art Festival.
